Pixel 27 is a micro-housing project in Bangalore that explores how compact urban living can be made more thoughtful, generous, and liveable. Designed in the dense heart of the city, the project includes 24 residential units made up of studios and one-bedroom apartments, and responds to the realities of rising land prices, density, and changing patterns of urban life.
Rather than treating small homes as a compromise, the project sees constraint as something to work with intelligently. Across units ranging from 350 to 450 square feet, beam-free construction allows flexibility in planning, while full-height windows and step-out balconies help extend the sense of space. The result is a set of small apartments that feel open, efficient, and quietly dignified.

The architecture draws from Bangalore’s material and visual memory through locally made brick, native granite, and familiar balcony grilles, giving the project a language that feels rooted rather than generic. Pixel 27 proposes an approach to residential architecture and sustainable housing that is compact, contextual, and scalable, while still keeping light, air, and a sense of everyday pleasure firmly in the picture.
